Acro-Yoga

The first time I ever got wind of such a thing was through Teresa Chian, founder of Living Arts Dance Studio and fellow performer for the recent match. That's her on top:As its title suggests, Acro-Yoga is a fusion of yoga and acrobatics, but isn't quite as challenging as it sounds. In fact, it's amazingly easy to start and let me tell you that once you start, it gets addictive.

A big part of the fun of it is that it involves partner-work, which doubles the enjoyment (and you can even get more people involved to form some amazing shapes!). The founders of the movement (for lack of a better term) also incorporate Thai massage into it, which makes the whole thing very healing-based. Also, they've designed sets of poses that flow into one another which means that you can both work together to 'yoga' together-gether (imagine the sun salutation, but with a partner). There are more pictures of stuff we've done in Acro-Yoga in my Facebook, but I still daren't log in so take a look if you've time. If you're up for it, I highly recommend it - go see Teresa, I believe that she's the only one doing it in Malaysia. If you're elsewhere, look up the website.

Headspin

So there's this method of breathing called kapalabati (sp?). Think of it as my kepala batty. Dominique's just started getting us to do it during rehearsals, and basically what happens is that we quite forcefully breathe through our nose, working our diaphragm and thoracic cage. Inhale, stomach outwards and cage downwards; exhale, stomach in and cage up. As big a breath as you can, at your own rate (but I think he's working towards a faster rate if possible) - I'm on an in-and-out per second.

Now what happens is that this creates a lot of pressure in your sinus system. To me, the effect is not unlike having dived a couple of dives. The point of this lau-hei story is that quite a lot of shit has come out of my sinus system in the past few days. Light greenish shit. Yellow shit. I'd show you pictures, but I'm not the kind of guy who takes pictures of snot. It is a LOT of shit. It is therefore irrevocably proven that I'm full of it.

But you already knew that. What's actually mildly interesting about this anecdote is that I normally only get to cleanse out my sinus system once or twice a year, which is usually during the haze times (or whenever our air & weather goes funny) - which is when I suffer from sinus problems that cleanses out after a day of intense pain. Or when I go diving. So now I can do it anytime, any day, and feel funny for a few days (there's still crap coming out now). Merci, Monsieur Le Breathing Specialist.

Me go yoga. Then I petitioned to fire Wolfowitz.

Me heard yoga at True Fitness kicks ass. It's true - me ass got kicked.

Yoga fun. Me prefer teaching at Yoga Zone. More thorough. True Fitness, show then do. Minimal instruction. Me go Hatha, did new things. Fun. Head stand! First time. First time fun.

I later received an e-mail from Avaaz (a community dedicated to creating a global voice to influence international politics, check it out) about a petition to fire Wolfowitz. Now he's a fucker who really should be sent to Guantanamo to be beaten, bullied, bashed and shat on every moment of every day. If you don't remember, he's one of the loudest fuckers calling for dropping bombs in Eye-Rack (yes he's a tactless ignoramus too). Now he's president of the World Bank and committed to fighting corruption - but what happens? He's involved in a corruption scandal that makes sure his girlfriend gets paid more than Condoleeza Rice. Don't just fire his stupid ass, burn his whole family out and remove their stain from our gene pool forever.

Yes, abuse of power makes me go all Hitler. Fuck him up here.
